In 2023-2024, UNICEF UTM aims to further the UN's Sustainable Development Goals by centring the focus on children.

The UNICEF UTM Basketball Tournament is an event that will focus on SDG #3: Good Health and Well-Being. Many children worldwide are not able to get access to good health for various reasons, and SDG #3 suggests that UNICEF focuses on issues, such as illnesses and diseases impacting the health and well-being of children and youth everywhere. Health and well-being are essential at every stage of one’s life. This goal addresses all major health priorities: reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health; communicable and non-communicable diseases; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines. Today's children will be tomorrow's leaders. Therefore, their well-being is crucial for global growth and development.
 

The basketball tournament is an event that will shed light to the UTM students and other members regarding the different ways children cannot have access to and live a healthy lifestyle and how to progress the goal of SDG #3. UNICEF UTM will work towards raising $10,000 for UNICEF to ensure that children everywhere, especially those in vulnerable situations, can get the help they need to receive quality education.
